Setup for Growatt Inverter and a Pylontech Battery.

slightly off topic but shouldn't that isolator be after the smart meter?

AC inverter + Battery install to existing solar setup + pre-pay meter install

According to that diagram, the Solax inverter needs to monitor both the grid import/export and the other inverter, so it knows when to charge and discharge the battery. They are proposing to use 2 of those CHINT meters with a RS-485 bus (parallel connection). So assign a Modbus address of 1 to...

New Octopus Tariff for Solar and Batteries- Octopus Flux

Just signed up for Flux. I only have PV at the moment but the increased export rate will outbalance the extra cost of import during peak times for me. Once I get a battery I will re-evaluate. As I don't have an EV, I don't have access to Octopus Go or Intelligent.

    Solax inveter tripping MCB

if you have a measurement showing 8000W then it's likely above 30A, yes. Divide power by voltage to get approx current.

    Solax inveter tripping MCB

kA rating is not relevant to the tripping, that's the maximum short circuit current the MCB can handle. 8000W is about 33A so although the MCB shouldn't immediately trip unless the current is much higher, it is undersized. I would ask the electrician to run the correct diameter cable and...

High grid voltage trip and limits

thanks! I am holding off contacting them as they are still working on my meter export MPAN and don't want to mess that up. It's taken 2 months already!

High grid voltage trip and limits

My grid voltage is fairly high - approx 245 V to 250 V overnight is common. On some sunny days my inverter trips on AC10M error, which is 10 minute average voltage too high. There is the option of increasing the trip limit in the inverter. I think it's currently set to about 255V. Question is...

    SP Networks G99 charges

That's super interesting, I will wait then!

    SP Networks G99 charges

I phoned SP Energy Networks (I'm based in Glasgow) to ask about charges for processing a G99 application (I currently have G98 for PV and want to add AC coupled battery, 3.6kW output) and the guy said 'there might be a charge, maybe a few hundred quid but you have to submit an application to...

New PV install question, Solax inverter setup

It is X1 Boost and that second pinout matches the manual. I will check inverter settings to see whether Meter or CT is configured.
