Lol, ok let's forget about the living accomodation. Was just a thought anyway.
I just added the sockets up but realised I didn't need to do it like that after I posted. Would love an arc welder one day tho :)
I think the 500w are still available as I saw them on a website today. I was calculating 100w for max lighting but I reckon I'll be using 60 watters anyway :0)
cooker, fridges, freezers, heaters, tools etc was estimating for further usage in the future like possible conversion to living accomodation.
100A Main fuse.
I can be persuaded on 500w though. you thinking 300w?
Hi, I'm about to fit out my outbuildings with lighting and sockets but am unsure on a few things.
There are 4 barns each to be installed with sockets, inside lighting, halogen security lights and outside sockets.
The plan is to take swa from the house supply to the first barn and fit a CU...
Thankyou. I think I just needed confirmation that I would be working safely as it's a fail if not. Especially on safe isloation!
So when I re-energise the TP DB I will leave the cover off the other Db and lock off. Then test ze, PFC. Replace the cover then re-energise to do zs tests, rcd test...
One more thing. When re-energising after continuity and IR tests are completed on 3phase board and db,.. to find the PFC of the db will I need to safely isolate it first/before with lock+key or will the cover be already left off with main switch off and PFC performed along with zdb(ze) test...
Hi, when doing periodic on 2391 do I calculate zs for motor circuit and MIMS radial?( if not then how? )
With the ring circuit I can test zs with socket tester and lights on db from ceiling rose? Is this correct as there are a just a few things I'm not sure of?

I think your right. Looking through the wiring i see that the earths had been cut on some of the lights and not connected together via junction boxes so the sparky must have picked it up from most convenient earth as you mentioned. that explains why lights were wired to the isolator. Thanks for...
I wasn't sure whether the two lights fed from the isolator were correct as i haven't encountered it before. Also I guess I just needed to ask you guys for peace of mind and guidance :D
ok, so 3 core cable from isolator, permanent live, switched live and neutral to JB. When the light comes on the two lives activate the fan and when light goes off fan still runs for a little bit?
yes and no :D I was about start work on the upstairs lighting back then but never got round to doing it due to change in circumstances. Never drilled holes for nuts & bolts as figured it wasn't needed. The two lights with the earthing nut&bolts look fairly new and were installed by...
The two 50w lights have been earthed via nut and bolt onto the metal plating.
Was the electrician right to have the two lights fitted directly to the isolator?
Hello all. I love this site as so many questions i've pondered have been answered. I often spend time just reading through posts to try and gain a better overall understanding of the electrical industry and any advice given.
Hopefully this question can be answered -
I have recently begun...
