    Insulation test

It looks pretty safe. I don't have this rule in my country. This inhibits sockets in little bathrooms definitely.

    Insulation test

There are no bath sockets in UK? Really interesting. There is no law in my country regarding this. You have to put all humid plugs in one separate circuit only. And this circuit is the one that is reporting 60 MΩ

    Insulation test

It's a brand new not used house, tested in a inner house circuit (bath sockets). Never used a single socket not the baths.

    Insulation test

Today I had an insulation test done by an EICR and one of the circuits was 60-70 MΩ, it started in 40 and progressively went up to 60-70MΩ in multiple tests. Rest of the tested circuits went up to 200MΩ with the given MFT model (could not see the model, only the brand, classic yellow Fluke)...

    Experience with XLPE or PVC

Today I've measured with a caliper the whole cable and it's exactly 5.1 mm. AFAIK 10mm2 are 3.6mm without the protection so basically I Have to assume that the protection width is around 0.75mm. According to some XLPE grids I've seen, this measure seems to be acceptable to fit under the 10mm2...

Which EICR tests cannot be done with a 6 in 1?

And any fool can put some cables and tighten some screws. Thing is that one has to start from somewhere. I prefer those who start by understanding why those screws must be tightened first and in which order than those that have just been tightening them for ages just because someone told them...

Which EICR tests cannot be done with a 6 in 1?

You can always sin in both sides. Too much knowledge or too much experience. But most of the people with too much experience I know are like the ones that are mentioned here: Anyway, you always have to start from somewhere, don't you?

Which EICR tests cannot be done with a 6 in 1?

So, basically, AFAIK, in the UK with a MFT and a passed C&G 2391-52 assessment I'm ready to rock in EICR world?

Which EICR tests cannot be done with a 6 in 1?

For type B you need one upper model, MFT1835 instead of 25. Still, I would choose 25 because I rarely see a type-B RDS in non-industrial environments. Another option could be the Kewtech KT65DL (only tests A & AC RCDs though) which is way cheaper, and also includes an Earth Electrode resistance...

Which EICR tests cannot be done with a 6 in 1?

I was trying to check the equipment required for EICR testing and AFAIK, I see that the 6 in 1 like Megger 1825 can do all tests except for the functional and the visual inspection ones for obvious reasons. Continuity of protective and bonding conductors 🆗 Continuity of ring final circuit 🆗...

    Domestic Electric Test Checklist

I did not know that the forum blocks further edits, but I'm going to be updating with some videos I find interesting for each of the sections, or comments within this thread: Continuity of protective and bonding conductors (2.1) Continuity of ring final circuit (2.1) Insulation resistance with...

    Recommended cable sizes for bridges

You just call it "40A cable"? In my country they are measured in square milimiters. Like 10 mm2, 6 mm2. There is no "40A cable" In fact this feels kind of weird because for example in this page, they call 40A cable to a 6 mm2, which generally 10 mm2 is generally more widely accepted to be the...

    Recommended cable sizes for bridges

Lets say that the main circuit breaker has 40A, RCD 40A, we don't have a comb busbar, and we have to do bridges manually between 5 MCb with 25A, 20A, 16A, 16A and 10A respectively, which is the site that must be used in the inner sections I provide a diagram to show which are the cables I'm...

    Experience with XLPE or PVC

I think the info is the hose. But the hose was removed, so I can only access the hose within the tube (and the hose doesn't have more length, to pull it out of the tube). The 2 cables inside the hose are 2x6 or 2x10.

Since I did not have any equipment, only the two 6 and 10 mm2 pieces of cable, I shoot some photos and then I scaled it. If I compare the incognito cable with the 6mm the scale was 0.85:1-0.9:1 And if I compared the incognito cable with the 10mm, the scale was 1.10:1-1.15:1 So there were two...
