    No local isolation

No isolation except  the supply circuit breaker for  external  A/C units, no manufacturers instructions . Is this always a C2  It is in my eyes but checking before i   complete a report, that anyone may have a reason its a C3

    What size is this breaker

This is in a foreign convenience store, the guy owns 6 very large shops & all the trades except me are of the same country. Most of the fridge repair guys, bakery equipment  people etc cant speak any English. They bodge everything up. I pointed out this problem to the owner the week it was...

    What size is this breaker

This was done last year by  a fridge company. Its a large fridge, open fronted that displays the cans & bottles in a shop i do the maintenance in (its by the back door thus all the dirt . It was a second hand breaker when fitted. Back to my OP, There is nothing wrong linking 3, single phase...

    What size is this breaker

Lovely bit of workmanship by the fridge guys here. Can anyone work out what that  Protek 3 phase breaker is, this is the best  pic. It looks like a C32.  I do have loads of these single phase GE Series E breakers, years ago we used to put a rod through 3 (there is a hole in the handle for this )...

Three phase supply for storage heating

A part like that would not be the suppliers. If you press the black square in the middle and hold it in, it mimics the contactor being 'switched on'. However please be very wary of the dangerous voltages in that box

    What lamp is needed

Thanks all. Abtec were very helpful until  they saw the pic and said its not theirs. Anyhow, after having a quick look off a ladder (250w) i decided the fitting were all too corroded . Went & hired a tower and bought some 100 W Led fittings  and changed them all. I could not budge a single...

    What lamp is needed

My other concern is the light is operated on a timer to stay on all night, the lamp has been blown for months. Often the fitting is knackered. A 130w LED is less than £100 so the builder has just said change the fitting, he reckons the top rungs of a 3 part ladder will fit between the 2 ac...

    What lamp is needed

Exa Exactly. Best pics i could get from the ground. I wanted to avoid 2 visits &  it looks to me the air con was fitted after so if ladders are rested on the ac it   will push it back. Makes this  an expensive job to get a cherry picker in

    What lamp is needed

Hi All Can anyone tell me what lamp is needed for this light, cant find any reference for this online, with my dodgy eyes is it 400w & is it internal or external ignitor  ?

    Fire alarm upgrade

I spoke to my local wholesaler who just happens to stock C Tec. It seems the way forward here is to replace the existing panel with a C Tec one and fit a repeater panel by the front door. The repeater  will give full access to the system and only needs 1, 2 core FP link. A 8 zone panel will...

    Fire alarm upgrade

I said detection zones wired in pvc, not sounders. I think all the detectors have been changed over the last 5 years. I will check out CTec

    Fire alarm upgrade

I have been maintaining & modifying a fire alarm system at a 'care in the community' type house (its not classed as a residential care home, although thats what it is)  for many years. There are  many things wrong that i always include on the quarterly report, but the system works and is...

    Overkill bonding

I remember having to bond the Crittall windows,  openers to frame & frame back to local trunking in 1960's BT buildings  And also having to chase the floor on stairwell landings to run a 6mm earth to the handrail.
