Hi. A few days ago my cooker extractor fan made a loud bang and sparked when I tried to turn it on.
The trip had tripped on the fuse box.
I turned off the electric and it dissembled it enough to remove the control box which is basically just a pcb with 5 switches mounted to it.

so I've just had another EICR done and while I was expecting some of the required remdial works - which include a new CU and gas meter earth bond - the electrician has added another item which they didn't mention when they were on site to the required works.

EICR has just been carried out for a rental property which i own -I'm keen to understand if the work is really required or if it's upsell?
Price of quote for remdial work is higher than previously intimated and with lower spec parts which concerns me.
It's been failed based on several points...
