Hey patch,
im posting this for my sister
she has a persian cat called lola, 3 years old sister has had her since 10 weeks old
the past 6 months lola has been pulling her own fur out :S from her neck to her tail she is now bald (looks more like a sphinx cat now)
she has also lost alot of weight
sister has kept upto date with her jabs, and she has regular vet checks.
upon 1st noticing the issues my sister took her to the vets who performed blood tests and also prescribed frontline as he beleived that the issue was down to fleas (some flea eggs wher present at time) and to also bathe her in DETTOL (i advised sister not to do this)
she sorted out the flea issue and also treated her for worms
the blood tests came back negative for anything
my sister not feeling confident in the vet sought a 2nd opinion from PDSA
again blood tests and various other tests all came back negative :S
she has began to gain weight again slowly but surely but there is no sign of the fur returning, the skin is pink and healthy no signs of any irritation and no broken skin anywhere.
Any suggestions or ideas as to what to ask the vet to test for or how to help her regain her fur?
otherwise she is a happy little kitty
Additional Note: She has been spayed
