Hi Guys

Did a ECIR today.

Cooker circuit 40a mcb. 6mm T+E coming out of DB. Removed cable,jointed L-E ready to do R1+R2

Went into kitchen to find No cooker isolation point.Cooker was only placed in cupboard unit so pulled it out a little,which I saw 3 cables. When I pulled the cooker out further This is what I found:-

6mm from DB going into rear of cooker.Out of same terminal was a 2.5mm T+E feeding back to the hob.Hang on! There was also a 1.5mmT+E coming out of same terminal that went into the wall.When I looked on top of the cooker hood I found a broken JB with this T+E in and a short piece of flex coming from the JB into the cooker hood.

Needless to say the cooker was left disconnected when I left. The property was not occupied as the local electric company had removed the meter and supply tails due to not paying bill for last 12 months.

I've never seen owt like this before.Baffles belief what some people do eh

I have seen exactly that many times.

I saw one similar BUT the cables had been twisted together and wrapped with Elastoplast! And thrown behind the oven

who says standards where higher in the 'old days' :slap

Ah yes slips seen that socket scenario before, apparently it's common after a flood, the walls Shrink back but the metal of the back box doesn't!!!

In the last pic is that a fusebox next to the isco head?
