Is a push-fit connector a 'professional' means of extending a cable inside of a consumer unit.

in the past i have used a adaptiable box , din rail and this along with wago's

I have used both types of connections and to be honest I have more confidence in the push fit types than the crimp type. I recently did a job in conduit under a concrete floor were I used crimp connections as they fit more easily than the push fits. So I guess I would use both when needed.

I tend to use crimps in a CU as it does look neater!

Saying that I will also use pushfits sometimes!?

Like I said elsewhere.

Solid cores under 10mm + crimps = Big NO NO

Solid cores under 10mm + Wagos or equivalent = Big Yes

ive never come acros solid core that 4mm or 6mm or 10mm, only stranded.
