Can anyone give me some advice on how to find a job as a spark as it's proving difficult at the moment. equal to/less thanheadbang(be gentle I'm new).i am currently employed as a finishing supervisor but looking to change careers.

i have the following qualifications;

City & Guilds 2330 level 2 & 3

City & Guilds 2382 17th edition

City & Guilds 2391 inspection & testing level 3

City & Guilds 2377 portable appliance testing

Yellow Pages?

Phone, e-mail, post CV?

Visit building sites? Find out who is electrical contractor?

Unfortunately your CV will probably show a lack of practical experiance, whilst in employment I would use this safety net to try and gain some experiance, advertise your service at weekends to local contractors in exchange for experiance etc, try the local electrical wholesalers see if anyone is after any one for weekend work or the occasional evening.

I did the begging letters thing asking local sparks if they wanted free labor weekends (don't think many like working weekends lol) I do a bit in the job i'm in, like changing three phase motors/pumps, fault finding on older machines & cnc machines, re-wired a three bed house on my own once (never again well not on my own), fitting showers, additional lighting, additional sockets even worked in Holland for 4 weeks installing & rewiring machines with my last employer. got all that on my cv.

I need to stop moaning & get my cv about a bit more me thinks.

Cheers
