Hi,

I've currently started to work (voluntary) as an electrician's mate to get some priceless work experience. I've got a HND in electrical Eng. which included number of aspects of electrical installation and work with BS7671.

However I don't have any official certificates and thus what would be next step to become a fully qualified electrician ?

An advice from the electrician:

- Get a Grade card

- Do a Bs7671 cert

- do C&G cert

What would be your personal advice to my case ?

Also, I've tried to find a test-only for Bs7671 however all colleges offer courses and then test, what can I do if I would like to get a test only/where should I go for such test ?

I doubt you will be accepted for a test only anywhere, the test only is generally for sparks with a 16th certificate that simply need to update it to current regs,

it shouldnt cost more than about 350 - 400

With a hnd I'd steer clear of this job and build on it and get a nice cushy job mate.
