Hi guys,

A friend has a hotpoint TVM570 tumble dryer which spins but has no heat?

So far I have checked the 2 thermostats at the back, and the heater element....All have continuity?

Any ideas on what else I could check?

Thanks in advance

Check the control switch. Most turn the heater off for the last 5 or 10 minutes, so the heater will be switched from the timer.

Thanks for your reply Dave.

Do you mean the programmer on the front of the machine? Have had a good play but to no avail!

Will try that on next visit...

So that would indicate a problem with the actual programmer unit?

Was hoping it would be a nice easy fix, thermostat or the like!

First time with white goods and I'm determined to get it going!

Tumble driers don't actually have that many parts inside them, and most are reasonably easy to replace...

Have a search on the manufactures website for any diagrams of internal parts..

and/or look on sites like e-spares, & buyspares for the model number see what parts are listed..

always take a photo of any wires before you disconnect anything.. so you can be sure to put them back in the right place..
