Grid Switch

Hi all,

I'm fitting a new kitchen circuit to include an 8 way grid switch with the help of my college tutor (C&G2365) but am a bit confused about the 20A oven grid switch that will draw 28 A requiring a 32A circuit. How do I get round this. Is there a higher rated grid switch?

Sorry if this sounds daft.

It may need to be uprated to a 45A switch in its own box and radial circuit. Did you ask your college tutor about this? :innocent

Yes there's no way you can get away with a 20A switch for a 28A load. Did your tutor not explain this?

Oven normally goes on its own circuit & switch in these situations. What type of circuit are you wiring the grid as ?
