Why on earth would anyone even consider wanting to keep them in service? Lead sheath cables typically have rubber insulated cores that perish similar to TRS rubber cables. The lead sheath would need to be adequately earthed to ensure it cannot become live in the event of insulation failure. Guidance suggests that lead cables were pre 1948, so thats 60+ years by which they are generally beyond their normal working lifespan.
