Neff Double Circotherm Oven U1420

The two screws which hold the grill heating element in the top oven keep falling out. Both ovens are working correctly.

It is very dificult to replace these screws.

Is there any other way of securing this heating element to the top of the oven

Try a slightly larger screw, perhaps, or.......old engineers trick

Try wrapping a bit of 5a fusewire around screw's thread

Slightly flatten screwthread in a vice

Pop,the centre of the hole with a centre punch

Just a few thoughts without going to the trouble of retapping

As above though "rivnuts / nutserts" are an option if you have the kit, the clearance behind for the fitting and access to get the drill in. Basically a threaded rivet. Used here in a back box as an example. In practice to fit an earth lug to an in-situ back box where the original earth screw had sheared off:

Though some may say this is overkill! :lol:

Clinchnuts or rivnuts work well but if you don't have access to a kit you can try a self-drilling screw that's the next size up maybe.
