Hi I called the niceic today to arrange my application for the domestic installer scheme after having just passed my BS7671 requirements for electrical installations and I was told that I would need to take an online exam at home to prove my competence.

apparently it is only a short exam and its open book but I am now really anxious because when I called at the start of the year I was not told I would need to do it.

Does anyone know anything about this exam I have no idea what the content of the exam might be or anything?

Well if you are competent it wont be a problem.....

Bit like going to any new job..

Not knowing what you will find till you get there...

I can't imagine it will be any harder than anything you may have to do working alone on an installation you have never seen!

Of course..

if you have only passed an exam on few wiring regualtions....

you may not be competent to actually work alone on a live installation ?
