Hi All

Im new to solar panel systems and im in the process of building on for an isolated caravan.

So I guess I will be asking some daft questions fairly soon.

Hi

Thanks for the info.

I already have 2 panels rated at 235 watts and 37volts each and a controller that works on 12 and 24volts I also have a 12v 110ah battery on the van.

The problem I see is I need to run a 24volt system I think and convert to 240v ac. I know I will need more batteries.

I have a 1000w inverter that is 12v input so this is the problem as I don't think I can connect it into a 24v system.

If I need to buy a 24v inverter in need help deciding which one to get.

How many batteries will I need. I would prefer 12v deep cycle 110ah batteries as these are fairly cheep and easy to obtain.

The way your question reads, the answer would have to be:  it depends on what it is you intend to run, (how much will the current draw be) as to how many batteries you would need.

Hi

My main concern is weather I can use a 12volt inverter instead of a 24volt one.

I think I need a 24v inverter just need clarification on this first.

The number of batteries may have to build over time to the right amount.
