Hi All

I currently have 9 NCB on my car but I now want to get a another estate car or van.  The insurance company says I can't use my NCB on my current car twice.  They have quoted me over £1200 for a second car.

Does anyone know any electrician friendly insurance companie s??

Thanks

try  broker, they might get you a better deal

and depending on what the costs are, it might be cheaper to change the car on insurance now, then insure your existing without any NCB

but yes, more than 1 vehicle is a pain when it comes to insurance...

my company allows me to use the NCB on the wifes car for my van,

Ive been on company supplied vehicles since returning to the UK so had no ncb of my own when I went SE,

helped a bit, my insurance with 6years named on wifes policy and 2 years of my own got me iro 700£ for my own van.

Deffo try a broker as they can do a deal with the insurer.

Especially if you have been insured with them before as they can then use the existing policy to get a better deal on the new vehicle due to linking the discount for example, as they have records of the history themselves.

You might have to start again ....I'm not sure ....don't think I had to .    There are specialist van insurers but not always that cheap .  If you earned those NCBs  they should be transferable ...... after all they use them to gauge haw safe a driver you are I presume

They seem to be asking higher premiums this year ,  I review both vehicle policies  every year  currently  van with Autonet, car with Hastings .      ( Nice to see their phone number ends in 1066 )

Van around £300   I think

Always had to pay more for the van than the car ...even when it was ......................

multi-vehicle policy should cover what you need, but defo use a broker, on-line insurance shopping is a PiTA, and you get bombarded with phone calls for ever more. Other good thing about brokers is that they will normally handle any claims for you.

My Postcode is next to N17 the car theft capital of the entire world apparently! :C

The fact that you can't nick a modern car without the keys seems to have escaped the insurance industry and as I live on the 1st floor it makes it a bit difficult to stick a fishing rod through the letterbox and fish the keys.

It costs nearly the same to insure a 5 litre bi-turbocharged V10 as it does a 1.9tdi :|

...Just paying
