CAT 3 test equipment...

The business I work for keeps a couple of back up meters, one of them is a Megger LRCD220, Its CAT 3. Looking at the category definitions, it says that only CAT 4 equipment should be used at the origin/supply side So I have said to the business owner that it should not be used for Ze testing for instance.

Could someone please confirm if I'm correct?

hundreds / thousands of us are using cat 3 daily and are not dead yet

good to know im not suddenly going to die if i do a Ze tomorrow (which is unlikely tbh since ive got a hand rail to install on some external stairs and a cupboard to build)
