Hello all

I'm new to the forum so please be nice :)

Basically I left college in 2011 Where I completed a two year course

My first year I done 2330 level 2

second year they cut funding and said they changed it to EAL

It wasn't a inatallation course but was worded differently

502 were the first numbera from what I can remember. but I was told this was equivalent to 2330 level 3

Anyway I shortly got employed so carried.on with that no questions asked

my boss put me on my 17th. I done my ecs and it came back trainee level 2

always thought this was becaused i didn't have NVQ LEVEL 3

Now I'm after a new job. I want to get my gold card first

now do I just need my NVQ level 3 or have my college ripped me off and I have to re do 2330 level 3

sorry for being so vauge. I will find my certs our tomorrrow and add more info

Thanks in advance

Adam

if you type 502 in to the eal website nothing comes up however if you put 501 a list of electrical related qualifications come up http://eal.org.uk/quals-finder/search-qualifications/search/results?site=1

Thanks

So I didn't waste a year at college

This qualification is still recognised,
Not 100% sure but I would of thought so. You can still do the NVQ3 though as you have industry experience and related qualifications to the underpinning knowledge that's required.

Thanks for the quick replies

If someone could give a second opinion on this I would be very grateful as want to sign up to course this week

Unfortunately Adam, I don't think you will be able to map your level 3 qualification over to the level 3 NVQ as it is an Engineering qualification and not an Electrical Installation qualification. You definitely wouldn't be able to enrol onto the current NVQ which is the 2357, your best bet is to contact JIB or XS training about the Mature candidate level 3 NVQ (2356), which is the older NVQ.

Good luck

Neil
