Woke up to an F61 fault and a red light, obviously no heating / water as it's a gas valve fault.

Question is do I call a heating "engineer" or vailant.?

I'd ask one of my mates but they are awkward and busy and I needs done asap.

Boiler is about 8 years old and due a service.

Ta.

:)

Well Duck if you were up in Scotland like we have been trying to get you to move to, :) I could have got my Vailant registered or accredited or whatever it is called heating engineer to pop round and help you out.

In your situation I would phone up Vailant and see what they say.

Thanks @roys :D

Scotland is sounding more appealing every day especially as the mother in law suggested I call British Gash! :slap

Called vailant, coming out tomorrow, it's either the gas valve or the main PCB so I reckon it's a steal at £299 (fixed price) rather than get a gas muppet round to swap parts @silly money / hr til it works. ;)

If its the PCB, it will probably be a dry joint........

Just Soldering.......

It did cross my mind that it could be a 50p resistor but the hassle and the moaning I will be subjected to when I start tearing the boiler apart, its worth it kind of!

There is also the possibility of the gas valve being at fault.

:)
