Looking after a small chapel used mainly on Sundays .

New Dimplex. Ceramic radiant heaters Cxd2000h installed oct 2014.

Today just under half have failed elements , cost of elements £67 , 2off per heater = 3/4 cost . Should I advise junking the system and going to another make or technology?

The advantage of these heaters is that they do not emit visible light.

Are the quartz type that shine red more reliable?

Do members have experience of problems with this type?

I think the quality issue is hit and miss nowadays, some cheap stuff is better than the branded items, but some aren't, and it sometimes changes.

I fitted some random cheap Russian IR heaters (12kW) about 12 months ago which I was quite impressed with for the price. Can't comment on reliability long term but they still work as of now!

Did you not complain? It sounds like a QC issue. They might do something for you.
