So I'd give then 6 out of 10 for actually using SWA....  (not T&E)...

but only 1 out of 10 for the method of extending the cable with an external joint half way up the garden by the fence....!

You can't see on the photo but all of the cores were nicked, probably with a knife,  with the insulation cracked leaving visible copper conductor below.

My tests had shown a low IR and no continuity of the sheath..

following questioning, the customer then remembered a box about two thirds up the cable run.

I went to a job to connect up a cable someone had installed after the last electrician bailed (who TBF was only there after I bailed but that's another story) and there were 4 lengths of cable, with different core counts and colour combos all in buried resin joints. I'm not surprised they didn't want to go back.
