looking for a relay or similar which will switch on when input 1  is activated, and stay on until an input 2 is activated where it will switch off. both input are 230v. does such a thing exist?

I do have an alternative of using a SPDT and a DPDT which looks like it might be easier

scrap that, i would need 2x SPDT & DPDT

Siemens LOGO, or Schneider TWIDO?

AFAIK, you are looking for a bistable relay & I'm not sure of their availability with 230V inputs.

i have already thought about PLC's, but bit of an expensive option compared to a few relays

quick look at the spec of that relay and it looks like it may be exactly what i need

Andy,

A LOGO or a TWIDO are not PLC's mate, they are just "smart" relays no more. ;)

I agree that the bistable may be what you are looking for.

It was only by chance I found the 230V version, only ever seen them in d.c. & ELV previously.
