Welcome to the forum c.me.b,  I have moved your question off into a new thread rather than tagging it onto the end of an old thread from 2012.

Doc H.

not compliant with manufacturers warranty requirements either way. You have 2 ways of loking at this:-

1/ fit shower and advise customer that it really isn't as safe as it should be - this can be classed as maintenance work, ie swopping like for like

2/ refuse to do job unless 30mA protection is fitted at £x extra

I wouldn't care for option 1 these days - too much legal liability and personnal risk.

I don't even know why this is a question.

There is only one answer, do the job properly.

As Lurchio says ,  in my opinion there needs to be a 30mA  RCD fitted to a shower supply , irrespective of what is already there .

Was the 100mA  fitted by mistake perhaps ?     They all look alike ,  could be simply someone picked up the wrong one without checking .  You need to change it anyway.   If you didn't allow for the cost , put it down to experience , you won't do it again .

And welcome to the Forum.
