I can only guess that the charger is lacking in any radio interference filtering . I presume it is very close to your radio ? Is it a cheapo jobby from the market ?

Replace the socket, they are only made of steel rather than copper or brass, there's probably corrosion on the base contact in the socket, this will cause interference.
