Just seen the SI post on 18th edition for a early bird price of £85.50- really 

normal retail price £95. 

I could save a lot more money if they didn’t change their bloody minds every couple of years. 

Perhaps we don’t need a change of regs as much as we need change of those in charge of the industry. 

Better still if the regs book lasted for say 10 years ..............., with any amendments FOC

The American NFPA-NEC codes are issued on a four year cycle with no amendments during that period. Sounds great so far, the last update (2017) has yet to be accepted by the individual state legislatures. Some states are still on the 1999 issue because they didn’t like bits in the later issues, thy can pick and choose the bits they like and reject the bits they don’t like. Due to this AFCI’s (AFDD’s) aren’t mandated in some states.
