Hi all,  l have an issue with my central heating.  A week ago we had the engineers out to service my system and rectify an issue whereby we could not get hot water on its own without the heating switched on.  They suspected the programmer as they could not find anything wrong with the boiler etc.

Now its vica versa, to get hot water we press the heating on and although we don't require it in this weather, heating the hot water button.  We have a Drayton LP722 programmer we had changed before xmas last.  We had another central heating/electrician in yestaerday who left mystified too.

Sadly you did NOT have any "engineers"

You need someone better I am afraid, and best to find a personal recommendation, or at least agree in advance "no fix, no fee"

My money would be on the system having a 3 port motorised valve that has gone wrong.

Funny you should say that, there is a 3 port fitted.  Will have that checked out first.  Many thanks.

If you wanted to try a DIY repair, replace the actuator head of the motorised valve, making absolutely sure you get the wires back in the same place as the old one (take a photo first and make notes)

It sounds like one of the dumb "engineers" may have swapped round the heating and hot water outputs from the programmer to add to the confusion.

Post the make and model of the 3 port valve.

Got the engineer coming back tomorrow, and will be armed with these replies.  :]  Thanks all.

When the climates start to change and you consider about using your central heating, it will be significant to take a few steps to validate your system is prepared for usage and that it is prepared for the heavy use that colder weather brings.

It is vital to have your system tested by a specialized on a yearly basis. When heating and cooling systems are not upheld correctly, they frequently will break down or energy prices will rise. The expert will check the fuel source to be sure there are no leaks, check the seals of the system to ensure they are not corroded or worn, and check duct work to be sure that it is suitably protected.

Last but not the least ensures that the service provider is well aware of your heating system model that you are using and knows what requirements to be done exactly. In simple term verify that he is an expert or a skilled person to handle the equipment.

Are you incapable of reading the "Posted Date" on threads you reply to....??   :C :shakehead

e.g.   June 7 2018

Do you think anyone is still following or awaiting a reply...?

Or are you just Spamming???

This doesn't really read as a goo/acceptable use of the English language. It appears to be more of a "cut and paste' or language translator

Just saying
