Purchased a replacement 2 gang dimmer with a remote switch in kitchen.  Copied wiring (used photo) red/blue/white in top row (right to left)  2x red in bottom side with wire connector top red to bottom red.   Lights work OK but remote only works when dimmer light is on.  Dimmer works spot and 6 inset lighting which is the problem group. Also remote switch is now reversed polarity.

 
Forget the POSITION of the terminals, it;s their function that matters.

The old switch will be labelled something like L1, L2, COM for each switch. You need to match that to similar terminals on the new switch that may well be in very different positions.

 
Replacement switch was like for like as original only fitted by sparky 6 months ago and only due to damage to one dimmer button
