Voltimum - Bill Lockyer joins NET as quality and verification manager

National Electrotechnical Training (NET) has appointed Bill Lockyer as its new quality and verification Manager.

Bill will be responsible for verification and standardisation of all NET assessments and will review NET processes, operating procedures and materials to ensure and embed best practice. He will also support the development of new End Point Assessments in Building Controls and Network Cabling along with other projects.

A highly experienced, fully qualified electrician with over 30 years’ experience in senior roles within business and the Further Education sector, for the past 10 years Bill has worked as External Quality Assurer/Verifier for the awarding organisation EAL, with responsibility for electrotechnical, engineering and Rail quality assurance and verification across 68 centres.

Carolyn Mason, NET chief executive, said: “I am delighted to welcome Bill to the NET team – he will add significant additional technical strength and bring new perspectives to our work.”

Speaking of his appointment, Bill said: “I am very excited about working with the team at NET. I have a passion for the electrotechnical industry and I am looking forward to contributing to the quality of assessment and ensuring that standards are met, in order to provide a competent workforce, for the future.”
