Just investigating why our car radio keeps going off ,  turns out to be the AM/FM button on the front  .   And because I removed it , it now requires a new code  which I'd guess is about £15   :C    at Ford.  Last one was £10  .

Old vehicle so ebay has a few at  £25  ea   ...thinking I wouldn't bother then ... If I were still a smoker  it would be 2 packets of fags  AND   ( after Googling  , I'd be spending at today's prices ,  £108   week    so bid is placed  for radio c/w code .

AND ( at today's prices )   I have now saved   £ 95,472  !!!   Not sure  where that is exactly.    .    But one day Rodders we'll be millionaires  !!!

have you looked on the radio to see if anyone has written the code on it? sometimes happens if they have had to get the code before
Or in the handbook, or service record book, or any other bit of paper left in the car.

Or there are internet sites offering to find it for free.

If replacing a radio I would only buy one that does NOT require a code to work.  Most stupid idea ever.  I am willing to bet more of these have been scrapped due to losing the code, than have been stolen.

Could have sworn I  had the code but I was thinking of the last car ,  and my old Escort van .

I saw those websites offering codes for .99 p   etc    . I thought they may be rip offs then  thought  well not for .99 p   whats the point ?       How do they conjure up a code then ?   Last time I had to go the Ford dealer  £10  !

No good getting a code for this radio with the faulty button though .

Ok, well yes If you have decided the item is no longer serviceable then there is no point In getting a code for it.

There is a database of codes for ford radios and only ford technicians have access to it supposedly.

I have used this service before when my tightwad employer wouldn't fix the radio after having the battery changed.

If it’s a Ford then they’ll only be a dozen or so codes, well they employ this concept for their keys so can’t see them investing more for a radio code?

So they list ALL the codes that will fit their radios  and you try them until it works ?

I'm bidding for one on ebay  ...I saw one on there with the code written on it  but looking closer I saw that the two holding clips were  broken off  .  This one appears to be good , we'll see  .

Nah, there will be a serial number / code that relates to a specific key code, I can't remember If it came from the radio or my reg number.
