Light switch found on a job today....

Lathe & plaster stud wall...

Metal KO box screwed onto a couple of lathes by the top & bottom lugs...

BUT...

no knock-outs knocked-out,  and the PVC cable conductors fed through screw fixing holes !!!!

Only need slightest nick in the insulation whilst pulling faceplate forward to make whole back-box live!!!

(problem sorted with a quick bit of cutting with the old multi-tool then fit a Dry-Line box in place of the Heath-Robinson arrangement....

And on the same installation as the above...

Ceiling rose fitted arse-about-face...…….

there I was just looking for a few accessible light fittings to do some R1+R2's   and/or Zs on...

So was thinking oh, this looks good as the rose cover actually unscrewed nice and easy...

meter probes at the ready, chomping at the bit...

But look up and think WTGrape!!!!!!!!!!!!!

who the heck screws a ceiling rose the wrong way up??????   :Chairfall

It was the oval one for the slotted hole that the CPC came through that threw me!!!
