Hello, some guidance please.

My plan is to connect a spur and take it directly through the wall behind the socket -- along the wall about 3 meters to and 13A external switched FCU -- to an LED floodlight.

Is this a good way to go?

The work will be inspected afterwards for a safety certificate.

Guidance on the correct method and cable greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you Andy for replying.  The whole house is being tested for a landlord safety certificate.

Would you be able to advise me which is the correct spec cable.

Many thanks

Why does inspector belong in " " ?

We don't know who is doing the test yet, but thank you.

I belong to a plumbers forum. When someone asks me what pipe to use I just tell them.

Just look at the reception if someone asks on a plumbers forum about gas.

Thank you Dave, I understand your point, but do you mean to say there isn't a fairy easily identifiable cable spec for the job I described?

I'm out of money, need to do it myself and want to do it right, that's all.

Thank you Geoff, this is the one I was looking at, a switch rather than a socket.  Spurred on to a RCD ring.  Thank you
