Me again😉

I've been tasked with doing some research into the viability of bringing Multitool blades to market under the Armeg brand.

Seeing as electricians are our favourite tradesmen and TEF members are our favourite electricians I thought I'd seek out the opinions of you intelligent folk. Answers to any (or all) of the questions below would be extremely useful. Any responses will be greatly appreciated and I'm sure there may be some samples knocking about should we decide to bring them to market😀

  • Do you have a Multitool?
  • Which blades do you use the most and for what tasks?
  • Do you prefer buying them in multiple quantities or individual?
  • Do you go for the top quality blades or the more price sensitive ones?
  • Is brand important or do you buy whatever's available?
  • Do you pick them up from Electrical Wholesalers? If not, would you consider this?
  • If you were to see an Armeg branded multitool blade, what would be your perception of  the quality of it when compared to the more established brands?

Thanks in advance and have a very pleasant weekend👍

Phil.

Yes I have a multitool

Flat 1" wide or half round "circular saw" blade are most useful

Buy in any quantity that makes sense

Price sensitive, because hit a nail by mistake and the blade is b******d so don't like wasting expensive ones

Brand not important see above

Rarely use a wholesaler none are convenient for me out here in the sticks.

Any recognised brand would get my attention but price has to be right.

I buy all my multi tool blades off a well known internet website .............. the OEM's simply charge too much and it appears to me their off shore manufacturers supply everybody

Tough but the way I look at it

Regularly use my multitool

Brand not important to me, use mostly the flat rectangular one, sometimes the semicircular one.

i buy whenever ones are on offer at Screwfix, Tool station or wholesaler. Sometimes just buy the one, but last week it was a pack of five as that was what was on sale.

To try and answer in order....

Got several Multitools...   (Aldi & Class Ohlsen)

Cutting wood (floorboards)…  and stud-walls (plasterboards boxes).   Various blades...  Metal/Hard wood/Soft wood/Plastic.

Generally look for multi-packs of blades...

No problem with price sensitive "generic blades"

Brand NOT important..

Rarely purchase from 'bricks & mortar" wholesaler/retailer..  Unless a really good cheapo offer!

Typically from the  site that sounds like the rock band "Saxon"....   but with a "T" stuck in the middle!!!!!!!!!!!!!   :popcorn

Can't see that Armeg would be any worse than the generic "SA--ON" blades that can be bought on-line!

To answer in order

I have 2 multitools a Dewalt corded and Makita cordless both with tool less blade change

I use a variety of blades for wood and metal and also have carbide and diamond for masonry and ceramics

Wood and metal blades generally purchased in multi packs other blades normally in single quantities unless a deal is available

I generally buy blades around £2 - £4 each the specialist blades are normally around the £7 - £9 mark

Brand not too important for general blades, with the specialist blades I go for particular brands that have been proven to meet my requirements

Often buy from Screwfix / Toolstation depending on price. I also buy online mainly for the specialist blades and I have occasionally imported a reasonable quantity from the US

I don't perceive any level of quality or longevity from a name on the pack or the price, quality, longevity and value for money is judged once it is in the tool. I have used well known brands in the past and they have not lived up to expectations while the cheaper blades have

Hope the feedback helps and look forward to trying out what you bring to market

Dewalt 18V Multitool(best on the market)

Plunge cut wood with nails blades probably get the most use

Multiple quantity's usually work out best, although the last lot were a multipack that was on offer in Selco

Quality wise top priced are simply not worth it to a spark similarly the cheap ones dont last 5 minutes so middle of the pack seems the way to go

Brand is unimportant quality price and availability are more important

My wholesaler doesnt even stock multitool blades but they do sell Armeg so if they stocked Armeg multitool blades alongside those i would buy them there rather than have to make a trip elsewhere or buy online

Perception wise having used Armeg Acceller8 Holesaws for the last year with great results i would have no hesitation buying multitool blades as if they last half as well as the holesaws they would be great.
