Hi there,

I want to hang a chandelier / multiple bulb pendant light in a conservatory. Is this possible? Do I need to install a plate for support? Is there a maximum weight for conservatory pendants? Or is it best just to avoid altogether?

Haven't bought anything yet as wanted to do some research first!

All advice welcome and many thanks in advance.

My aluminium and pvc framed conservatory has a metal plate, perhaps about a foot across, screwed to the point where the roof members meet up.

There is then a substantial fan and light unit screwed to the plate. I didn't put it up, it was there when we bought the house, but I've had it down to clean and it certainly seems a solid and safe arrangement.

As Geoff says  there is often a central meeting place for the ceiling purlins  .  There is often a plate  or I've fitted a wooden one in the past ,  plastic can be unclipped and wiring run behind it .

If it looks like a nightmare  fit wall lights .
