Evening all, went to a job today to replace two failed led light fittings in a house, both changed, tried the light switch only one light working.

Disconnected the one that's not working checked for power 237v when the switch is on, reconnect, light still not working?

Any ideas please.

And the voltage with the light connected?

Chances are a broken high impedance connection somewhere and there was nothing wrong with the 2 "failed" lights other than this wiring fault.

No 1, check the voltage with the old light fitting connected before jumping to the conclusion that the fault is a faulty light fitting.
