intruder alarms

I want to fit a Texecom Odyssey5 compact bell box to a Gardtec diamond 500 panel.

I understand the connections are: SAB tamp to C in bellbox (tamp)

                                                             Bell- to B in bellbox (bell -ve)

                                                             Bell+ to A in bellbox (12v +ve)

                                                             Bell hold- to D in bellbox (0v)

                                                             Strobe-  to S in bellbox (strb -ve)

                                                             Strobe+ not connected 

What I don't understand is the difference between Bell- and Bell hold- in terms of operation?

The negative hold off is part of the tamper circuit if removed the sounder will operate from it's own battery

One more question - does the strobe+ need to be linked to the bell+ or is this already achieved internally?

Yes it does and don't forget make sure the battery is connected
