Looking for a quick bit of advice. We want to install sub CU in a double garage to power 1 outdoor socket and a small radial in the garage. We have a normal two story house with the CU located on the far end ground floor. The garage is 1.5 stories high so the apex of the garage is level with the ceiling of the top floor. The run is about 30m. We could obvisouly go outside and dig the cable then come back in to the garage or put conduit up round the length of the house, both of which seem more work than is needed. Is there any reason we can't run out of the main CU (ground floor) up some conduit to the loft of the house back in (I suspect the cavity will be impossible to go up), clip along the loft space beams into the top of the garage roof and then down to where the sub CU is located? Thanks!

I would suggest you get a local spark or 2 to come and quote, and where you will save money is by doing the digging

You should also consider that if you are in England or Wales this work would fall under Part P of the building regs

Hope this helps
