I have to quote supply for a swim spa 40A and jacuzzi 20A. There is already a 10mm2 3core SWA in place. My Question is do I just fit IP rated 2way CCU and run SY cable to each load or just run another circuit from origin and have 2x rotary isolators? Unfortunately although 10mm is adequate to supply both I suspect will struggle to daisy chain isolators 🤔

How long is this existing cable, what is its installation method and will it satisfy volt drop requirements.

Is this dist board going to be exposed to the elements because IP rated or not it is not likely to survive.

SY cable is not recognised by BS7671 and will quickly deteriorate if exposed to solar radiation, would be the last type of cable I would consider using.

The CU may be IP rated but I would put in a proper cabinet designed for outside installation , and then the isolators may also fit inside

SY cable is a big NO NO

why do people think SY cable is acceptable?
