My daughter has recently moved into a new place. One of the light switches looks normal from the outside, but doesn't work. When I take off the cover, this is what I see:

What is this? It doesn't seem to be a dimmer or timer, and I can't see any manufacturer on it..
Has anybody an idea what it is, and who makes it?
