hi,im fitting a 125a 3 phase + n 12 way mem dist board.with a mix of single pole mcb and some triple pole mcb the main isolator switches the 3 phases and the neutral is a solid link.my question is when would you use a 4 pole main switch to complete isolate the 3 phases and the neutral as im starting to wonder if i should use a 3 or 4 pole main switch disconnector hope that makes sense !

As Andyc said depends if its TT or not, if TT then will need to be 4 pole CJS

If it is TT makes it differcult to comply with 17th as you would probably need Rcd as main switch but cannot use one Rcd as breaks regs bet the writers of regs forgot about that one.
