Hi, new to the form filling side of testing.

On a minor works cert for adding an extra spur socket.

What do you record for dead tests. The new length of cable  or the values of the ring?

Bit confused .

I test the entire circuit this proves your alterations have not affected its integrity.

These forms aren’t explained too well but yes they record the changes to the circuit you have worked on, so tests relate the the entire circuit

as a tip if you are spurring from a socket do a quick Zs before you start at the socket you are spurring from so at the least you know that it’s a “good” point before you start.

if it’s a ring, then you can test continuity when you disconnect the socket

dont forget to check earthing and bonding and RCDs too

hope this helps

Thanks for the advice.

So you don't really need to record the R1+R2 of the spur?
