Wooden back box

I've seen a re-wire, obviously a dodgy one, where they'd left the wooden back boxes in!

On the same rewire they were using the cpc as a live on the two way landing light... another quality job.

 
Nice bit of artexing.

Hope it's not the sort containing asbestos.

 
Don't worry, the artex manufacturers association have assured us that the content of asbestos is well below the legal maximum.

 
However it is considered best practice not to breath when scraping it off the walls etc.

 
If you are really careful you can break them out and get a 16mm metal box in to replace them without damaging to much decor.

I did a rewire a few years back and in the loft I found a half reel of cable (doncaster cables) and a box of unused wooden back boxes.

Amazing quality of workmanship went into them but totaly useless now :^O
