good evening ,

just been to see a job of moving some sockets about a metre away but found 4 double sockets side by side supplying a high end LINN HIFI SEPARATES

each double socket supplying a single component of the hifi and he wants the whole moved.

my question is what is the reason for each component having a double socket?

thanks for your help.

Each having a double with 2 cables going into each piece of kit?

Sorry didn't explain well , the 4 components of the system ,each fed from a separate double socket,so wondered if there was a reason for it?

you may find each socket is on its own circuit as well

i think its about clean supplies and stuff

The reason is quite simple

He has more money than he can possibly spend on necessities, so he's quite happy to be frivolous in his spending

So, don't worry about it, make sure you use the most expensive products you can find, add your extra mark up and charge double your normal rate

Bottom line if he thinks it's cheap he will believe the sound is not as clean as it could be and lay awake at night fretting about it, whereas the rest of us worry about normal things like feeding the ankle biters

He's not a politician by any chance?

Ian what do you reckon, O2 free 2.5 T&E for this job, must be ooh at least

There is also the possibility that he`s used the double sockets as they generally now come with a second (clean) earth connection. Possibly they`ve been used to reduce mains-borne interference?

KME

Yes but if he is that worried then he should be using a conditioner.
