going to house tomorrow with no incoming earth if it's a TT system is it okay to just use an earth stake and run a cable in .If so does an earth test become nescessary

and dont u need to do an earth electrode resistance

have not been to house yet , been a long time since i've earthed a house didn't know what has changed, last time i did it just used earth stake and ran 1omm into house

not experianced with tt but osg says buried :

unprotected 25

protected against corrosion 16

protected against corrosion and mech damage 2.5

not buried its 4 or 2.5 if protected against mech damage and corrosion

some of these seem a bit low am i looking at the right table here

Yes I think you are , Tom1.

Kevin , you also need to fit RCDs if going for TT . When you say there is no earth , is there no conection to the cable sheath or what. Has there never been an earth connection. ?

dont think he has seen it yet but it sound dangerous with no earth, prob earthed through incoming services

evans, i found were i read about meter tails not being over 5m
