got a wirless system, that only comes with internal PIR's is there any way to put them in a box or somthing to would make them work outdoors?

unfortunaly you can not get external PIR for this system, and the only other option is about 200 quid.

its only to put next to a gate in a ally way to detect people climbing over or coming through the gate.

Thanks all

I am setting up some wireless pirs tomorrow will check for false alarm , but as said before needs to be dual technology or made for external use, they will not pick up through platic covers.they do not work through glass only the temp difference background if they are looking at glass and sunlight causing rapid change when clouds come across.

As mentioned in previous post look at other type using a contact with the auxillary input to alert the controls

There is no cheap alternative for external protection.I take it it is remote from the property and if you use something to expensive may get damaged.
