hi people,

could do with some help to put u in the picture am lookin to install 5 downlights in bathroom but am unsure about the regs ?. i now believe that any work now done in the bathroom will need rcd protection? would not really be a problem but the fuseboard is an old one with re-wireable fuses so that i take it will be a no-go?, which leads me to ask is there a way around this and can anybody help as im unsure with the 17th edition etc so thought this would be the perfect place to ask:)

thanks for any replies greatly appreciated Guiness DrinkGuiness Drink

any idea of cost of the units guys? also will it just be a case taking original light feed into the rcd spur then out to lights keeping same switch wire in place?

thanks very much for taking time to reply

They should also be IP55 (sealed) so that moisture cannot get into the ceiling void or loft space.
what silicon do u use to seal (flum seal)?

You don't need any sealant... the fittings come with sealing rings
fitted some befor and they did not sit tight it said in the instructions to use a sutible silicon sealent if they are not tight to celing.

wont be useing them again
