Just curious Guys & Gals...

With regard to Hardwired, battery back up Smoke Alarms. Which ones do you use?

wouldn't a poll have been more appropriate and easier to refer to in the future?

(If one has appeared whilst I type, I apologise)

Don't be so lazy and use that keyboard - instean of zapping flies. ;)

:D

For all major refurbishments and rewires, the regulations would state, and builing control would insist on hard wired with battery backup.

Hence thats what I use.

psst - Admin wants to know what brand.

It's not very clear is it? A nice poll would have made it crystal clear ;)

aico myself

because the bases are all the same on the range and they are round whick makes them alot easier to fit

for domestic always aico with alkaline battery backup, not the more expensive lithium.

theres loads of information on the aico site about siting of the alarms.

i usually use optical in living rooms/ hallways (good response to smoulding fires from furnishings)

ionisation in landings as i believe optical gets really upset by moisture and most landings have a steamy bathroom near by.

this is a bit of a generalization i know.
