would love to but on removing the cover there is more cable than, well lets just say there is a lot and no hope of fitting a rcbo.

thanks for the quick response andy

i like to think outside the box(cu) :coat

o yes if anyone clicks on the link, read the review, some one has used this for a power shower, are power showers 13amp?

yer, it would be an rcbo normaly. i just dont think i could fit it in

If run off of a pump it can contain a 3amp fuse tom.AndyGuiness Drink
i see,

not fitted power shower before thanks

every day is a school day.

its a 10amp mcb,

so will a 13amp fuse in the rcd hold up and the mcb trip if there is a short

or will they both go,

or should i just get a 10amp fuse, questions question so many questions

a 32A MCB is most likely to go before a 13A fuse.

and the fuse in the spur should selected based on expected load

its the whole light circuit, currently on 10 amp mcb

where is the RCD spur going? if its immediately after CU, i would put a 13A fuse in. its going to be better to re-set MCB than replace fuse. but if its only going to protect 1 light, then use a 3A so a fault there doesnt take out entire circuit

this is my logic, might be off the mark

cant get rcbo in the cu,

put rcd spur above the cu,

light cable out the cu into the rcd fcu then to the rest of the house.

rcd protection via the fcu,

overload and short circuit protection via the 10amp mcb

so the fcu fuse can be anything 10 amps or above
