Hi there,

Does anyone know what needs to be present at the intake position of an installation, whether it be single or three phase.

Slightly vague as to what you are asking, however here goes.

Main supply cables provided by the dno.

Suitable fuses for the main cables, single phase = 1 fuse ,3 phase = 3 fuses.

Earth link if provided for by the dno.

All fuse housing and dno provided equipment to be sealed.

Short link from the main supply to a meter supplied and fitted by the energy company and sealed.

All this is the responsibility of the dno and supply company.

After the meter its the customers responsibility, however there have been pressure for all dno and supply companies to provide a suitable isolator, but this is not always present.

So in short, you would expect A, a supply to the required or design demand, B, a means of earthing, C, a method of protection for the supply prior to the home.

D, a means of safe disconnection from supply in the event of fault.

I hope that is along the lines of what you are asking.

they have to be TT
erm.......

The actual description goes along the lines of....

Page 183 BRB..

Agricultural & Horticultural Premises..

Reg 705.411.4 TN systems..

A TN-C system shall NOT be used in the installation. etc.. etc...

which in effect means it 's Going to be TT'd:) ; )Blushing
