Ok that's 2 new sub forum ideas, but even if Dom Apps aren't a regulaar line of work for most forum members, then Air-con and refridgeration probably is.

Dane's site seems to have suffered 'failure to thrive' as medical types would say. Which is a shame. There are other green sites around but few seem to be really technical - more about keeping chickens and the like (mind you it might just be me being impatient with the internet), or if they have some knowledge give half a story and a link to a book you can purchase. Having bought a couple of books from Amazon, I have now conluded that much of this is amateurish at best, albeit practical in a 'I want to live in a teepee type way'. Where as I and I'm sure many other members of this site would appreciate a more professional approach to standards, methods, and equipment.

Thank you Steps, I do occasiopnally have a good idea, but try to keep it to a minimum as it makes my brain hurt :^O

You PV installation is exactly what I'm thinking about. I'm in the process of designing a small free standing system for a customer at the moment, and would love to be doing more of this type of work. My one doubt about it is how many people seem to be getting involved, and whether there is enough market out there to justify the cost of getting accredited??? as is always the problem for a one man (and one boy) outfit like myself :) And of course there will be the inevitable defects and fault finding to share info on.
